It’s happening. It’s evolving. It’s becoming more powerful—whether we like it or not.
Depending on how it’s used, AI can be a lifesaver, an amazing partner, and even a creative collaborator. But it can also be one of the worst mistakes humanity ever makes.
When it comes to art, music, images, and video, AI should have no place. There’s no real use case for it that justifies replacing human creativity. It’s disturbing and unnecessary every time I see “AI-generated” next to an image or video.
And lately, the trend of AI imitating Studio Ghibli’s style has really upset me. I personally hate it. It’s disrespectful to the studio and its legacy.
There are two things I strongly dislike here:
- How OpenAI trained its models. They should’ve never done it that way. They had the power—and they chose to exploit it.
- The users who follow every trend blindly.
It’s heartbreaking to watch this happen. I once listened to Hayao Miyazaki speak about the future. He said:
“The future is clear. It’s going to fall apart. What’s the use in worrying? It’s inevitable.”
That stuck with me.
AI is destroying art—we, as end users, need to wake up. We should be supporting real artists, not walking around aimlessly, following trends with no awareness.
Art sends messages. It creates peace. It spreads awareness. It makes life beautiful. And it helps us become more responsible, more empathetic humans.
Do you remember why Hayao Miyazaki didn’t attend the Oscars in 2003, when Spirited Away won Best Animated Feature? He boycotted the ceremony to protest the U.S. invasion of Iraq.
That’s a role model.
That’s what empathy looks like.
That’s what standing for something means.
No AI in Lavender Night
I’m strictly against using AI to create anything for my bedtime stories podcast, Lavender Night.
Everything you hear, feel, and experience in each episode is real:
- The music
- The illustrations
- The stories
- The voice actors
- The sound effects
All made by humans.
And yes, it’s expensive. I fund Lavender Night entirely from my own monthly income.
People often ask, “Why not use AI to create the illustrations?”
My answer is always: absolutely not.
Every illustration is created by Uran Duo, a wonderful husband-and-wife artist team based in China. They helped me start this project—I couldn’t have done it without them. They bring every story to life.

I also collaborate with incredible people from all around the world. That’s how it should be.
Humans helping, collaborating, and co-creating—that’s how stories go from heart to heart.
