My New Blog with WordPress and Ollie

Hello there, it’s me, Rebeen.

I’m really happy to welcome you to my new blog, built with the software I love most in the world—WordPress. I’ve been a huge fan of Full Site Editing and block themes ever since I made the switch two years ago. It all started when I tried the Frost theme by Brian Gardner, and I absolutely loved it. Now, I’ve built this blog with what I consider the best block theme out there—Ollie—created by Mike McAlister and Patrick Posner.

Last year, I decided to purchase Ollie, but as always, Iraq’s payment restrictions made it impossible. Just when I thought I wouldn’t be able to get it, Mike McAlister—one of the best people in the WordPress community—generously gave it to me for free. Honestly, where else can you find a community as amazing as this?

So, here we are—my new blog is finally live, and I couldn’t be more excited. This space is where I’ll share my projects, thoughts, and life journey with you.

I’ve always believed in the power of blogging and encourage everyone to have their own. I’m not a fan of microblogging on social media, where you have little to no control over your content. Just look at Instagram’s latest update—they introduced a new grid size and, just like that, messed up every profile designed for a 1:1 square layout. And that’s not even mentioning bans and all the other issues that come with social platforms.
