I Wrote the Third Episode of Lavender Night

If you don’t know, I created a cozy podcast last year called Lavender Night—a collection of bedtime stories for adults. Why do I love this project? Why did I decide to start it? Well, let me tell you.

There are many bedtime story podcasts out there, each unique and amazing in its own way. But what makes Lavender Night special is that the stories feel like a wise and kind friend having a conversation with you. Each episode explores themes around mental health, life experiences, and more. And when you listen, the rich atmosphere surrounding the narration makes it feel as if you’re really there, experiencing the moment with the character.

The first two episodes were written by the amazing Canadian writer, Michael C. Lockett.

Third Episode: Having a Bad Day

For the latest episode, I decided to challenge myself—I wrote the story entirely on my own.

It wasn’t easy. It took a long time, and I went through multiple drafts before I finally got it right. I created a character living on a countryside farm, sitting on a porch with a gentle breeze under a starry night. I also drew inspiration from Elif Shafak’s book, How to Stay Sane in an Age of Division.

The narration was beautifully performed by Tina Blane, an amazing voice-over artist from St. Louis, Missouri.

This episode was by far the most challenging, the hardest, and yet the most joyful to create—not just because I wrote it myself, but also because I handled the mixing and mastering for the first time. I produce all my episodes, but I had never worked on mixing and mastering before. In the end, though, I truly loved the result.

My Private Little Corner of the World

I’m not fully open about this project when it comes to marketing. Right now, I’m relying on the YouTube, Spotify, and Apple Podcasts algorithms to bring in listeners. The only person who fully knows about the process—and has been my biggest supporter—is my sister.

There’s no dramatic reason for this. I’m just a private person when it comes to my life, decisions, and creative steps. Lavender Night is my cozy corner of the world. Every episode shares a part of my experiences and feelings.

If you’re reading this and you’ve just discovered the project, I welcome you with all my heart. Please, sit back, relax, and let the bedtime stories bring you peace and the best sleep.

Alright, that’s it for today. Bye for now.
